NEWS - January 2016
- Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and look forward to a prosperous new year for all members and their families. Our Club finished 2015 very strong adding several new members and also saw a trend of increased tournament participation. The Tournament Committee is doing an excellent job with the new Tournament Pairings Program software. 2016 is looking to be a great year for the Calimesa Men's Golf Club.
- The Annual General Meeting was held on December 6, 2015. The meeting included a review of 2015, a preview of 2016, a review of the 2016 USGA rule changes, recognition of the 2015 major winners (click here to view pictures from the AGM), and election of the 2016 board of directors. The board was elected as follows:
- President - Michael Ebert
- Vice President - Gary Sutt
- Treasurer - Greg Marksbury
- Secretary - Glenn Young
- Tournament Charimen - Doug Owens
- Handicap Chairman - Tom Wigent
- Greens Chairman - Isaac Kerr

- The outgoing Vice President, Tom Spoto, decided to retire from the Board. After 30 plus years of serving on the board, he has graciously passed the torch on to the next generation. Tom has continuously dedicated his time to help make the Men's Club as successful as it is today. All Members owe Tom a big thank you for everything that he's done for our Club. Tom will continue to be an actively involved Member.
- The 2016 Tournament Schedule has been posted. Click here to download a copy.
- The Tournament Committee continues to have several Members show up Sunday morning to play in a tournament without signing up in advance. When Members show up without signing up, unnecessary pressure is put on the Tournament Committee to make last minute changes trying to accommodate all Members participating in the tournament. This is easily remedied by signing up at least by the day before the tournament. Members may register for tournaments on this website, call or text Tournament Chairman, Doug Owens, at 909-649-1963, send an email to ddowens929@aol.com or CalimesaMensGolfClub@gmail.com, call Calimesa Country Club at 909-795-2488 or register on the sign up sheet at the course. Please register in advance to help the Tournament Committee do their job more efficiently.
- Members that haven't renewed their 2016 membership have been dropped from the GHIN (Golf Handicap and Information System) system. Click here to see the Non-Renewed Member List. Memberships can reinstated at any time by paying the required dues. Click here for information on how to pay membership dues.
- Just a reminder that the USGA rule changes take effect January 1, 2016. Click here to view the changes. If you have any questions, please contact a Member of the Board.
