Just a reminder that our Club has adopted USGA Model Local Rule E-5 as an alternative option to the Stroke-and-Distance procedures under USGA Rule 18.2. That means that when a ball is hit out of bounds or is deemed lost, there are two options listed below.
Go back to the spot where the last stroke was made, drop a ball within one club length no closer to the hole, and add a one stroke penalty.
For a lost ball, determine where the lost ball came to rest, move to the fairway, drop a ball within two club lengths of the edge of the fairway no closer to the hole, and add a two stroke penalty. For a ball that is out of bounds, determine where the ball crossed the out of bounds line, move to the fairway, drop a ball within two club lengths of the edge of the fairway no closer to the hole, and add a two stroke penalty.
